Mission
The mission of the MWC Women in Construction Mentorship Program is to support the professional growth, skill development, and career advancement of women in the construction industry. The program creates an environment where experienced professionals (Mentors) guide less experienced participants (Mentees) through structured, supportive, and collaborative mentoring relationships.
Objectives
- Facilitate knowledge transfer of industry best practices, technical skills, and construction know-how.
- Provide networking opportunities and build a supportive professional community.
- Enhance career readiness and confidence for mentees.
- Promote inclusive practices, welcoming women, Two Spirit, and non-binary participants.
- Develop future leaders and role models within the construction industry.
Scope
This program applies to all eligible participants, including new hires, interns, or employees with less experience, and registered mentors within the MWC community.
Program Structure and Guidelines
Cohort Details
Cohort Size: Pilot program of 4–5 mentor/mentee pairs
Duration: 3 months (January–April 2026)
Frequency: Bi-monthly meetings (2x per month, virtual or in-person)
Program Coordinators: Responsible for overseeing matches, support, and program tracking
Eligibility
Mentors: Experienced construction professionals with demonstrated leadership and technical expertise, willing to commit time and guidance.
Mentees: Women, non-binary individuals with less experience in construction, willing to actively engage and grow professionally.
Roles and Responsibilities
Mentor:
- Provide guidance, feedback, and support to mentees.
- Share industry knowledge, experiences, and insights.
- Attend all scheduled mentorship meetings or provide prior notice if unavailable.
- Respect confidentiality and foster an inclusive, safe environment.
Mentee:
- Actively participate and take ownership of personal development.
- Set goals with mentors and complete agreed-upon tasks.
- Be open to feedback and maintain professional communication.
- Respect confidentiality and uphold professional behavior.

Application Deadline: Applications to become a Mentor/Mentee must be submitted by December 10th.
Mentorship Kickoff Meet & Greet Event: Successful mentor and mentee pairs will be invited to in-person meet-and-greet in early January. More details coming soon.
